Bio & Background

Matt Brackenhoff currently serves as a federal civilian employee at the Naval Surface Warfare Centers, Crane Division (NSWC Crane) leading research and development for large-scale testing environments for unmanned and autonomous systems, to accelerate prototyping and deployment of safe and reliable capabilities. His research interests intersect with human-machine teaming and collaborative autonomy.

Mr. Brackenhoff has been appointed by NSWC Crane to support the Indiana Initiative for Drone Dominance (I2D2) Task Force as a technical advisor. In this role, Mr. Brackenhoff will provide technical considerations as the State of Indiana develops a statewide drone initiative across multiple sectors.

Mr. Brackenhoff has been an Army and Navy civilian for eight years leading novel test environment development across cyber and air domains. Prior to serving at NSWC Crane, he was the Deputy Director for the Muscatatuck Cyber Training Center (MCTC), a live full-scale cyber-physical range with an integrated cyber-electromagnetic activities (CEMA) environment.

Mr. Brackenhoff served fourteen years with the Indiana Army National Guard (INARNG) both as an enlisted communications specialist and Infantry Officer. He holds multiple associate and bachelor degrees from Ohio and Indiana universities, a Master of Business Administration and Masters of Science in cybersecurity from American Military University
